The White Swan, Grosvenor Street West

I must have seen this the day I too Old Union Mill (after that storm). I forgot about it. Going back to the cinema (a scenic route rather than walking down Broad Street), I went down Grosvenor Street West and saw this pub.

It is the second The White Swan I got of the day (after the first one on Bradford Street in Digbeth).

I think it used to be called Darwin’s.

Based on a drain enscription, I think it dates from 1914.

The leasehold is currently for sale by Fleurets.

I saw another pub round the corner on Ruston Street. Thought about taking it, but there was a car with an open boot, and I didn’t want to take it (had taken too much photos by then).

So for this day this pub is it.

So next time I’m around here, might have to get the Vine Inn (probably next time I go to the cinema).
